CLOSED, Stuttgart, Interior Design

For international fashion label Closed, PHILIPP MAINZER OFFICE FOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN completes the new women’s store in Stuttgart. Located in the landmarked building ‘König von England’, the architecture of the 172 sqm space references the building’s modernist roots and brings forth a progressive interior concept.

A diagonal pale rose wall with hanging brass elements, inspired by the work of minimalist artist Anne Truitt, allows for intriguing perspectives, leading the customer through the store. Emphasising the modern and enduring zeitgeist of the Closed brand, a warm mix of wood elements such as birch and palisander is set in contrast with burnt orange window elements. Bordeaux Rosso Belgio and black Nero Marquina marble tables provide additional presentation space.

Since 2004, PHILIPP MAINZER OFFICE FOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN has collaborated with Closed in creating a progressive and identifiable brand architecture for the label. This includes the design and realisation of all Closed retail stores, showroom spaces as well as numerous international exhibition stands for the brand.
