CLOSED, Munich, Interior Design

For the international fashion label Closed PHILIPP MAINZER OFFICE FOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN redesigned the brand’s womens and mens store in Munich. The 153 sqm store is divided into an autonomous male and female space, architecturally separated by a passage running through both areas.

As a continuation of the close and ongoing collaboration between the two companies since 2004, the interior design features a modern and flexible concept, whilst emphasising the authentic yet innovative character of the fashion label. Elegantly toying with high-grade materials such as birch, bronze and Nero Marquina marble, the Munich store expresses the modern and forward quality of the brand. Freestanding display tables and clothing rails alongside modular display units lining the walls provide for a combination of hanging and flat presentations.

Since 2004, PHILIPP MAINZER has realised all showroom and store spaces as well as exhibitions for the international fashion brand and created a recognisable brand architecture for the label.

CLOSED, Munich, Interior Design

In 2004, the collaboration with the Hamburg based fashion label Closed started with the realisation of the company’s first flagship store in downtown Hamburg. Since then, the fashion label commissioned the interior design of all Closed stores and showrooms around the world with the briefing to establish a distinct global corporate architecture for the brand. The main interior features of all stores including the one in Munich are casual yet polished environments.
